How do I reattach the aerial to the standard stereo in my Mini Cooper?

It’s a funny plug I haven’t seen before, not like the usual bigish ones in most cars. It has a small lever on the top and a tiny pin to connect to the socket. When I push it onto the aerial socket on the stereo it doesn’t fix. How do I do it?
